They were built at sea level, so the water was basically at the their front doors. The houses are two stories, the lower level was used as a boat house and the upper level was their living space. The water levels have gone down since and the water does not reach the front doors. If you are heading North in the Golf of Naples, Capri welcomes all sorts of sea travelers!
Gardens of Augustus is located on the top of the island. This is such a picturesque and natural paradise. When visiting the Gardens do not forget to look around and see the rest of Capri and the glamour of the seas.
